Today I turn 30.

I received this book in the mail this afternoon from my younger brother that I am looking forward to reading:

I think this autobiography will be a nice accompaniment to a documentary I watched recently, Beware of Mr. Baker, which remarkably captures the insane life of Ginger Baker, who of course founded Cream with Eric Clapton. I always heard that Clapton was more reserved than many of his peers at the time, so it'll be interesting to compare the book and documentary, which can be viewed below:

On an unrelated note, today is also Frederick Douglass' birthday, who by the way, is said to be the 19th century's most photographed man.

An 1879 portrait of Frederick Douglass. Photographer unknown.

Apparently Douglass understood the importance and power of photography, which you can read about here and here.
